Omstars is a platform that provides authentic and inspiring video content made for yogis by yogis. The goal for this project was to create an inspiring yoga brand and media channel that would talk and teach yoga to people in a unique way, with lessons, courses and shows that cover in 360 degree the yogi lifestyle.
The word Omstars is composed of two words: Om, which symbolically embodies the divine energy, and Stars, which relates to the yoga gurus that populate the platform. We decided to create a unique mark that would include both the essence of yoga, represented by the iconic lotus flower, and the energy of the stars.
Colors and images are selected to work well together. Four colors have been chosen to identify the 4 main categories: Tuition, Wellness, Insight and Culture. A dedicated filter gets applied to the images belonging to each one of the four categories, to better guide the users and help them identify the areas of the platform they are in. The two typefaces have been selected for their being versatile and adapt to work on a complex digital product, with a rich UI.
The experiential home page immerses the users right away into the world of Omstars. The concept of the lotus flower is infused in the design of this section and in the scrolling behaviour. The lotus petals animate and morphe every time the user scrolls, to highlight the different sections, mimiching yoga positions. The full responsive website experience will help the users to focus on their yoga growth through courses and lessons as if they were watching television.
Course cards help users to keep track of their lessons and of new releases. Every card is color coded, in relation to their category, and convey in a compact way the information about the courses.
