With this project we introduced the DNI and its 4 pillars, also showcasing the five innovation video stories, creating a proper documentary. Google’s goal for this project was to communicate the brilliant work of the DNI Fund in furthering innovation in the European News ecosystem.
With the style we wanted to represent the idea of being a journalist, highlighting with a marker sections and using elements that recalled a newspaper layout.
The narrative flows between each of the pillars, users can be dropped into the story at any point and still making sense out of it.
We wanted to dramatise the story around why efforts to improve the news environment is so essential, and these four pillars are the answer to the drama we build. The entire website was designed to create an immersive experience with the video chapters. We added additional interaction with the player, which the users can use to read detailed article, navigate through the chapters and share them. All the experience is responsive.
